Multi Packaging Limited is seeking to recruit a full-time Handy Person / Fitter to complement its current Maintenance team. The ideal candidate must be a reliable and motivated individual, who will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, whilst maintaining the highest standard of good practice.
The selected candidate will be:
• Performing day-to-day Handy Person and Maintenance works in any Multi Packaging site, both internal and external as required;
• Carrying out routine maintenance work such as plastering, painting of walls and plumbing;
• Assisting Technicians in the repair of machinery and equipment, including fitting work such as dismantling, replacing and reassembling parts;
• Assisting Technicians in locating faults and attending to breakdowns promptly, to minimise production downtime;
• Assisting Technicians with preventive maintenance of machinery, plant and equipment;
• Assisting other Maintenance team members;
• Carrying out regular inspections and examining defects in building services, equipment, installations, etc. and keeping relative records;
• Notifying the Maintenance Executive of any major works that cannot be performed due to lack of equipment, resources or skills;
• Helping in moving office equipment and furniture, and handling machine parts, tools and materials as required;
• Following safe systems of work and using the appropriate PPE when carrying out repairs, fitting and maintenance works.
The selected candidate must:
• Possess proven hands-on experience as a Handy Person / Fitter;
• Have good practical skills in general repairs such as plastering, painting, plumbing, etc;
• Be capable of assisting Technicians with machine repairs and fitting tasks;
• Be competent in safe use of hand and power tools;
• Possess knowledge related to inspection and record keeping, safe systems of work and PPE use.
Experience assisting with machine repairs, fitting work and familiarity with production equipment, ideally in a manufacturing environment, will be considered as an advantage.
