Special Interest Travel Limited is seeking a Full Time experienced and commercially driven Cruise Specialist to manage and grow the company’s cruise business segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for relationships with suppliers and partners, while creating and implementing strategies to maximize passenger volume, revenue and profitability.
Main Duties will include:
• Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and partners;
• Identifying and securing new cruise business opportunities and partnerships;
• Negotiating commercial agreements, rates, and service contracts;
• Attending international trade fairs, workshops, and industry networking events;
• Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and emerging cruise segments;
• Designing and developing innovative shore excursions and cruise passenger experiences;
• Creating cruise-focused itineraries integrating Malta’s cultural, historical, and experiential
Attractions;
• Developing premium, group and bespoke cruise products and ensuring that products meet
passenger expectations;
• Achieving agreed revenue and passenger volume targets;
• Preparing and managing annual sales plans and business forecasts;
• Identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Hospitality Division products;
• Building long-term strategic relationships with key decision-makers;
• Coordinating closely with operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of services;
• Overseeing service quality and customer satisfaction;
• Resolving operational and client-related issues promptly and professionally;
• Conducting post-operation reviews and implementing improvements where required;
• Preparing regular performance reports, sales updates, and pipeline forecasts;
• Tracking profitability, conversion rates, and business development activities;
• Maintaining accurate CRM and client records;
• Providing market intelligence and recommendations to management.
Requirements:
• A minimum 2 years’ experience in the Cruise Industry, DMC Sector, Tour Operations, Hospitality,
or a related travel business;
• Proven track record in Business Development, Contracting, or Sales;
• Understanding of cruise operations;
• Experience dealing with international travel trade partners and cruise operators;
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills;
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities;
• Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships;
• Results-oriented with a proactive approach;
• Strong planning and organizational capabilities;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems;
• Fluency in English both verbally and in writing.; additional languages are considered an asset.
Additional languages and Knowledge of Malta as a destination will be considered as an asset.
