M. Demajo Group is seeking to recruit a Full Time qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join its accounts team. The successful candidate will take ownership of accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and support for strategic decision-making. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Preparing monthly/quarterly financial reports and management accounts in a timely manner.
Preparing monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports by the specified deadlines.
Preparing annual financial budgets and preparing/updating 3-year financial projections.
Preparing cash flow forecasting and related analysis.
Preparing annual draft financial statements.
Audit & Compliance
Planning and supporting external auditors in carrying out the financial audit of companies within the Group. This includes preparing all audit deliverables in advance of the scheduled audits.
Assisting in internal audits and ensuring compliance to internal control framework.
Preparing and submitting statutory reporting (e.g. NSO).
Ensuring that stock counting policies are adhered to (where applicable).
Taxation & VAT
Preparing income tax computations, tax payments and other related tax reporting.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns and other VAT related declarations.
Transaction Management & Treasury
Taking full ownership of the accounting ledgers, posting to ledgers, carrying out bank and other reconciliations and preparing end of month and year-end accounting.
Reviewing and approving payments.
Recording fixed assets acquisitions and disposals and investigating the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reports.
Other
Planning, assigning and reviewing the data processors work.
Ensuring a high quality/standard of work and service throughout.
Performing any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
The ideal candidate must:
- Be ACCA qualified or possess a Degree in Accountancy and Certified Professional Accountant (warranted in Malta).
- Have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in an accountant or management accountant position.
- Have strong knowledge of accounting standards, be proficient in accounting software and Excel.
- Possess excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, and is able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
