Fablab Valletta is an educational outreach component of MIT's Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA), an extension of its research into digital fabrication and computation. A Fab Lab is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention, providing stimulus for local entrepreneurship. The lab forms part of a growing network of 700 labs around the world sharing similar inventory and abiding by the Fablab charter being led by the Fab Foundation in Boston. Fablab Valletta has certified technicians trained at the fab academy in Barcelona. It is a young, up and coming micro lab in partnership with two private companies that are leaders in architecture and design, as well as ICT business sectors. It believes in adding value to the City and beyond; through its network and multidisciplinary collaborations; inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to make almost anything.
